This site is dedicated to those wonderful old kickers of yesterday and the men and women who love to restore and run them. The Florida Chapter is made up of about 200 enthusiasts whose desire is to see the preservation of a little piece of American history, not as museum exhibits, but as actual working examples of American ingenuity and spirit at the start of the Industrial Revolution in the United States. Names such as Elto, Indian, and Flambeau conjure up memories of past triumphs and failures. Enjoy our site as we travel back through time together!

Lake Shipp Meet
Winter Haven, Fl.

May 18-19, 2012

The City of Tavares wasn’t cooperative so we’ve moved the location of the May meet to LAKE SHIPP!!!!

Yep, that’s right, Lake Shipp on May 18th and 19th.

Friday is casual with a cruise to Old Man Frank's Bar and Grill for lunch. Friday night is at Ruby Tuesday's and Woody's will supply chicken for Saturday's lunch in the park. The Chain of Lakes has some low water in the canals. It is suggested you bring a low draft boat and if you don't have a shallow water drive device, make one out of a 2x4 to fit between your saddle bracket and the tilt pin.

NO CAMPING IN THE PARK OR THE PARKING LOT! This is a change in policy with the City, so don’t plan on parking your campers at Lake Shipp. We will provide security for Friday night.

Lake Roy Motel (863) 324-6320 is offering rooms for us again at discounted rates: parking lot side was $78.00 and is now $ 62.40. The lake side was $88.00 and is now $ 70.40. Please tell them you are with the Florida Chapter Antique Outboard motor Club when calling for reservations. There are other nearby motels offering competitive rates too.
